How can I volunteer?

FAQ about volunteering

1. I’ve never volunteered before, is that okay?

Of course! We welcome everyone with an open heart, whether you’re new or experienced. All runs will also be accompanied by a senior volunteer so rest assured that there will be guidance!

2. What will I do as a volunteer?

You will chat with street sellers, fill in case forms and potentially work with organisations. In Signpost Collective, there’s a role for everyone – one that suits your comfort level and skillset.

3. How much time do I need to commit?

Busy life? We completely understand. While we encourage all volunteers to go for weekly runs, we are also open to having volunteers on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.

4. Is volunteering safe and supported?

Yes, your safety and the dignity of the people we serve and volunteer with come first. There will be a pre-walkabout briefing and our team is always around if you need help.

5. How do I sign up?

Simply fill in our sign up form! See you soon!

Our Volunteer Testimonials

One of my favourite memories from service was learning how to sew from Aunty Florence, where we all made little plushies under her guidance while we chatted with her, and in general, it is very heartwarming to bond with and talk to her on runs every week.
